Pilot programs free through June 2027

Residents fix coverage themselves. Within the rules.

Togaba Scheduler is one live schedule for your program. Residents find rule-checked swaps and coverage on their phones, chiefs approve with one tap instead of brokering every change, and GME gets proof that work-hour rules held.

No sign-up for the demo. Work schedules only, never patient data.

  • Residents

    Find your own coverage

Ask for a swap and see only the colleagues who can legally take it. No group texts, no guessing.

  • Chiefs

    Stop being the switchboard

Changes arrive already rule-checked and accepted by a peer. You approve or decline in one tap.

  • GME

    See compliance as it happens

Every change is checked before it's made, with fairness and duty-hour reports ready for the APE and GMEC.

How it works

Live in a week, not a semester

No implementation project. A chief can set it up between shifts.

  1. 1

    Bring your Excel

Import last year's schedule. Your services, shifts and roster carry over. Invite residents by email.

  2. 2

    Publish one live schedule

Everyone sees the same schedule on phone and web, synced to Apple, Google or Outlook calendars.

  3. 3

    Let residents handle changes

Swaps, coverage, PTO and sick days go peer to chief, checked against the rules at every step.

Features

Everything between the Excel file and the duty-hour log

Live schedule + calendar sync

The schedule is never stale again

  • Today, my schedule, by service and month views on any phone or laptop
  • Personal calendar feeds for Apple, Google and Outlook update themselves
  • Installs like an app. No app store, nothing to download.

Rule-checked swaps and PTO

Only valid trades make it to the chief

  • Residents see only colleagues for whom the swap is rule-valid, with call counts alongside so it stays fair
  • Checked against the ACGME 80-hour rule (4-week average), 1 day in 7 off, 24+4, rest between shifts and call frequency, plus your program's own rules
  • Peer accepts, chief approves in one tap, and the schedule updates for everyone
  • PTO and sick days find coverage the same way, and every change is logged

Schedule generator

Next block in minutes, not weekends

  • Generates 3 candidate schedules with different trade-offs
  • Respects requests off, preferences and service minimums
  • Edit the one you like in a grid, then publish

Built by a resident, for residents

“As a chief, I spent my nights brokering swaps over text and hoping nobody went over 80 hours. Togaba Scheduler is the tool I wanted: residents sort out coverage themselves, and the rules are checked before anything changes.”

  • Programs are isolated

Row-level security in the database keeps each program's data to itself.

  • US hosting

Database, app and email providers all keep customer data in the United States.

  • Ready for review

FAQ

Questions chiefs and GME ask first

Does it replace Amion, QGenda or New Innovations?

It doesn't have to. Togaba Scheduler works alongside them: keep your residency management system for duty-hour logs and evaluations, and export from Togaba Scheduler when you need to.

Which rules does it check?

The ACGME work-hour pack: 80 hours a week averaged over 4 weeks, 1 day in 7 free, 24+4 continuous hours, rest between shifts and in-house call frequency. Chiefs add program rules such as PGY eligibility for a service.

Do residents need to install an app?

No. It runs in the phone's browser and can be added to the home screen. Shifts also appear in the calendar residents already use.

Do you store patient information?

No. Togaba Scheduler holds work schedules only: names, work emails, roles and shift times. Free-text fields remind people not to enter patient details.

How long does setup take?

Most of it is importing your current Excel schedule and inviting the roster by email. A chief can do it in an afternoon.

What does a pilot involve?

Thirty days of real use in one program, with success criteria agreed on day one: swap turnaround, changes made without email, chief time saved and work-hour compliance. We share the results with you.
